We stumbled across this forlorn and forgotten country church in 2000. Surrounded by waist high weeds, St. Francis Circa 1864 captivated our hearts.

Leaving Melbourne and the comforts of a modern home, we took up residence and embarked on a journey of restoring this gothic Catholic Church to its former glory.

Now sensitively restored we invite you to share in the ambience and spaciousness of St. Francis.

Imagine waking aloft on the mezzanine under a soaring, pressed metal ceiling.

Picture yourself bathing by candlelight under the stars in the private outdoor bathing area, soaking in the spa bath or curled up in front of the romantic fire listening to your favourite music surrounded by the great acoustics that only a church can provide. Experience a different kind of open plan spaciousness, with majestic architectural details, and what's more the whole building is yours alone.

In bygone days St. Francis Church no doubt brought comfort and divine inspiration to parishioners of Carisbrook. Now visitors far and wide can enjoy more earthy comforts, even luxuries, and more than a hint of sublime history.
